Groups

Groups collect related tabs into a named section of the Radius sidebar. A split belongs to a group as one collection, so its panes stay together when grouped.

Create a group

Create a tab, then create a group containing it:

page="$(radius tab open "https://example.com")"
group="$(radius group create "Research" --tab "$page")"

If page is part of a split, Radius places the complete split in the new group.

Open more tabs in the group

Pass the returned group ID explicitly:

radius tab open "https://developer.mozilla.org" --group "$group"

The new tab opens in the Research group and becomes active.

List what’s in a group

radius group show "$group"

The output lists every tab in the group with its ID and title:

The * marks the active tab.

Add --json to group list, group get, or group show when a program needs structured group and tab records instead of displayed text. See Machine-readable output in the Command reference.

Rename a group

radius group rename "$group" "Web research"
